About us

My name is Tanner Rich. I have been in the automotive field since 2011, working in every facet of the industry. A local, born-and-raised Vermonter, I graduated from Wyotech in Blairsville, PA, in 2012, where I studied collision repair, street rods, and custom chassis fabrication. After graduating at the top of my class with honors, I returned to Vermont to further refine my craft and deepen my technical skills. I spent ten years at a local high-end custom and collision shop serving as a fabricator of sheet metal parts, painter, final assembler, wiring technician, and bodywork specialist, contributing to projects that became award-winning custom and classic restorations.

I started T.A.S. (Tanner’s Automotive Specialties) in 2019 with the goal of simplifying the collision repair process for our customers and restoring confidence after an accident. The insurance claim process is often deliberately complicated by carriers to make vehicle owners feel powerless and steer them toward preferred repair shops (DRPs) that prioritize the carrier’s interests and cost saving. We are here to change that. As an independent shop, our mission is to provide honest, transparent service from start to finish, with clear communication and repairs done the right way — to OEM specifications, not the cheap way. Modern vehicles contain advanced technology and safety systems designed to protect you in a crash, and when they’re damaged they must be restored correctly so that, in the event of another accident, your vehicle will keep you and your family safe. We handle the communication with the insurance carriers for you so you don’t need to worry about the exact “key words” they want to hear; we make sure the repairs are specified and completed correctly.
